This bill expands the Rural Health Care Practitioner Tax Credit to include additional healthcare professionals, such as pharmacists, nurses, social workers, behavioral health counselors and therapists, and physical therapists. The credit allows eligible practitioners who provide healthcare services in rural, underserved areas of New Mexico to claim a tax credit of up to $5,000 for physicians and $3,000 for other healthcare professionals. The bill also requires the state's tax department to report annually on the usage and cost of the tax credit.
