Bill Summary

Education enrichment accounts. Defines an "enrichment student" as an individual who: (1) has legal settlement in Indiana; (2)was a student in grades 3 through 8 during the 2021-2022 school year;and (3) scored either "belowproficiency"or "approachingproficiency"on the statewide assessment Indiana Learning Evaluation ReadinessNetwork (ILEARN) program, administered during the 2021-2022school year. Establishes the Indiana student enrichment grant program(program). Provides that an enrichment student is eligible to establish an Indiana enrichment scholarship account. Provides that an enrichment student may receive $1,000 to be used for certain qualifiedexpenses. Establishes the student enrichment grant fund. Provides thatthe department of education shall administer the program and studentenrichment grant fund.
