This bill prohibits the Department of Health, Department of Children and Families, Department of Elderly Affairs, Department of Corrections, and Department of Education from using state or federal funds for conducting or referring individuals to "conversion therapy" - any practice or treatment intended to change a person's sexual orientation or gender identity. It creates the Florida Coordinating Council on Conversion Therapy within the Department of Health to develop educational information on the risks and harms of conversion therapy, and requires the state agencies to annually publish this information on their websites. The bill aims to protect minors and vulnerable adults from ineffective and unsafe conversion therapy practices that have been rejected by medical and mental health professionals.
