This bill amends the timetable for the legislative services agency to prepare and submit proposed congressional and legislative redistricting plans to the Iowa General Assembly. The bill reduces the number of days the agency has to prepare a second or third plan if the initial plan is not approved, from 35 days to 21 days. It also requires that any subsequent plans be submitted sufficiently in advance of September 1 of the year ending in one to allow the General Assembly to consider the plan prior to that date.
