This bill permits school bus drivers in New Jersey to administer epinephrine (a medication used to treat severe allergic reactions) to students in emergency situations, under certain circumstances. The key provisions are: 1) the student's parent or guardian must provide written authorization and a doctor's order for the school bus driver to administer epinephrine, 2) the school bus driver must volunteer and be properly trained in administering epinephrine, and 3) the school district, nonpublic school, school bus driver, and school bus contractor are protected from liability if they act in good faith.
