AI Summary

This bill authorizes local governmental entities, such as county and municipal governments, to enter into regional economic development partnerships. These partnerships can include a variety of organizations, including businesses, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations, and can engage in joint regional economic planning, formulate economic development or redevelopment strategies, and access loans, bonds, and grants to support their activities. The bill also allows counties and municipalities to enter into agreements for joint economic planning and development projects without forming a formal partnership. The partnerships must be registered with the New Jersey Economic Development Authority and, if a constituent member is a public entity under the Department of Community Affairs, the partnership agreement must be approved by the department.
