This bill establishes a Women Veterans Coordinator within the New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA). The coordinator, who must be a veteran, will work with state agencies and groups to assist women veterans with issues such as employment, education, counseling, housing, and access to services and resources. The coordinator will identify and coordinate statewide programs and services for women veterans, develop and distribute informational materials, and make recommendations to the Adjutant General and the legislature to ensure compliance with policies and regulations and improve benefits and services for women veterans. The bill also requires the coordinator to hold quarterly meetings with women veterans and make annual or more frequent recommendations to the legislature and governor.
