This bill requires the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) to create mobile driver's licenses and identification cards that can be accessed on mobile electronic devices. The bill also allows individuals to update their motor vehicle records, such as change of address or organ donor status, through their mobile licenses and IDs, with those updates taking precedence over physical documents. The MVC is required to adopt rules and regulations to implement the bill, which will take effect 72 months after enactment, though the MVC can take preparatory actions before that date.
