This Joint Resolution officially designates August of each year as "American Artist Appreciation Month" in New Jersey, a state that has a rich artistic heritage and has been home to many renowned artists. The resolution, which is a formal expression of opinion or will by both houses of the New Jersey Legislature, aims to acknowledge and celebrate the contributions of American artists across all mediums, recognizing their vital role in shaping American culture, driving the economy through jobs and revenue, and inspiring people nationwide. The Governor is also formally requested to issue an annual proclamation encouraging educational and cultural institutions to observe this month with appropriate activities.
