AI Summary
This bill amends Section 37-15-13 to allow a school district superintendent, subject to school board ratification, to consent to the enrollment of a child from another school or attendance center upon the request of the child's parent or legal guardian. It also amends Section 37-15-29 to provide that any child attending a school in this state may transfer to any school offering instruction at the grade level of the transferring student in any school district, subject to available capacity, as outlined in the new Section 37-15-31. The amended Section 37-15-31 establishes the process by which a parent or guardian can petition for a child's transfer, requiring the petitioned district to determine if there is capacity using publicly verifiable data and generally approving the transfer request.
