This bill, titled the "Arizona Accommodations for All Children Act," requires public schools to provide reasonable accommodations to any person who is unwilling or unable to use a multi-occupancy restroom or changing facility designated for their biological sex. Reasonable accommodations may include access to a single-occupancy restroom or an employee restroom, but do not include access to facilities designated for the opposite sex. The bill also allows persons who encounter someone of the opposite sex in a designated restroom or changing facility, or who are required to share sleeping quarters with someone of the opposite sex (excluding family members), to file a private cause of action against the school unless the accommodation would cause undue hardship. The bill defines "sex" based on a person's immutable biological sex as determined by anatomy and genetics at birth.
