This bill authorizes the Early Childhood Education and Care Department to enter into joint powers agreements with tribal governments in New Mexico to plan, conduct, and administer early childhood education and care programs using the tribes' own culturally and linguistically relevant standards, assessments, and evaluations. The bill amends existing law to add this new provision to the list of duties of the Department, providing tribal governments with more autonomy and flexibility in delivering early childhood services within their communities.
