This bill creates the Mental Illness Psychotherapy Drug Task Force, which is chaired by the executive director of the Department of Health and Human Services (or their designee) and the chief executive officer of the Huntsman Mental Health Institute at the University of Utah. The task force is responsible for providing evidence-based recommendations on any psychotherapy drug that may enhance psychotherapy when treating a mental illness, including the appropriate use, administration, training, and potential regulations for such drugs. The task force is required to provide a written report to the Health and Human Services Interim Committee before October 31, 2022, and the bill includes a sunset provision, repealing the task force on December 31, 2023.
