DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATION -- Adds to existing law to create the Public School Health Insurance Fund.
AI Summary
This bill adds to existing law to create the Public School Health Insurance Participation Fund. The fund is continuously appropriated to the state Department of Education to fund the one-time amount required for a public school to buy into the state's medical and dental group insurance plan, up to $4,500 per support unit. The fund will be available for use only by publicly funded K-12 educational institutions and will be administered on a first-come, first-served basis if demand exceeds available funds. Any unexpended monies remaining in the fund after June 30, 2024 will be transferred to the Public Education Stabilization Fund or, if that is fully funded, to the General Fund.
