This bill directs the New Mexico Department of Environment to coordinate the state's efforts to clean up and reclaim former uranium mine and mill sites. It requires the Department to develop a strategic plan for the cleanup of these sites, establish mechanisms for coordination with the federal government and other stakeholders, create a centralized repository of information on the sites, and report annually on its activities. The bill also creates the Uranium Mining Reclamation Revolving Fund to support the Department's reclamation projects, and appropriates $350,000 from the general fund for the Department's first-year operating expenses in carrying out these duties.
