This bill amends sections of the New Mexico Statutes Annotated (NMSA) to add members of the New Mexico Mounted Patrol to the definitions or categories of law enforcement officers. It provides for insurance costs for members of the New Mexico Mounted Patrol and makes an appropriation of $94,560 from the general fund to the risk management division of the general services department for expenditure in fiscal year 2023 to cover the costs of general liability, civil rights, tort claims, and workers' compensation insurance coverage for these members.
