This bill eliminates the statute of limitations for actions seeking damages due to childhood sexual abuse in New Mexico. It makes this change retroactive, allowing cases that were previously barred by the statute of limitations to be revived and filed within a 30-month window after the effective date. The bill defines "childhood sexual abuse" to include conduct that would constitute criminal sexual penetration or contact of a minor, or violations of the Sexual Exploitation of Children Act. The statute of limitations under other laws will not apply to these types of actions.
