This bill establishes the Arizona Veterinary Loan Assistance Program within the state's Department of Agriculture. The program provides up to $100,000 in student loan repayment assistance to veterinarians who agree to practice in the state for at least four years, with at least two of those years spent working in agricultural practices in underserved areas or at nonprofit, county, or municipal animal shelters. The program is funded by a $5 million appropriation from the state's general fund and is administered by the Department of Agriculture with input from an advisory committee. The department must also submit an annual report on the program's expenditures.
