This bill amends existing law to revise the invasive species fee provisions. It reduces the fee for motorized vessels and sailboats numbered in Idaho from $10 to $5, but increases the fee for vessels documented through the U.S. Coast Guard or registered/numbered outside Idaho from $30 to $85, with an additional $70 fee for vessels with ballast tanks or over 21 feet in length. The bill also exempts non-motorized vessels, except non-motorized sailboats, from the invasive species fee. The bill allows licensed outfitters with non-motorized fleets to pay a discounted group rate. The bill also specifies the distribution of the collected fees, with vendors retaining a portion, the department retaining up to 20% for administrative costs, and the remaining funds deposited into the Invasive Species Fund. The bill declares an emergency, making it effective July 1, 2022.
