This Memorial requests the Public Education Department of New Mexico to explore and investigate methods for integrating curriculum related to agriculture, food, and nutrition into the K-12 school system, recognizing the significant role agriculture plays in the state's economy and daily life, and the importance of educating students about where their food comes from and the related career opportunities. The Public Education Department is tasked with providing a report containing recommendations and a timeline for implementing these educational changes to the relevant legislative committees by October 1, 2022, and copies of this Memorial will be sent to the New Mexico Department of Agriculture, the Public Education Department, and the Governor's office.
