This bill would authorize the State Department of Public Health to issue limited podiatric radiography permits to individuals who have completed a course in radiation safety and radiologic technology approved by the department. The course must be provided by a licensed doctor of podiatric medicine who holds a current and valid radiography supervisor and operator permit, and must include instruction in radiation protection and safety, principles of radiographic exposure, and other relevant topics. The bill sets forth eligibility requirements for the limited permit, including passing department-approved examinations, and limits the training to a maximum of one year per student and one student per licensed doctor of podiatric medicine. The bill also makes related changes to the Radiologic Technology Act.
