This bill creates a process for a person to voluntarily waive their firearm rights in Tennessee. It allows a person to file a voluntary waiver form with the circuit court clerk, which would prohibit them from purchasing or possessing firearms while the waiver is in effect. The person can later file a revocation form to have the waiver removed, unless they are otherwise prohibited from possessing firearms under federal or state law. The bill also makes it an offense to sell or transfer a firearm to someone who has an active voluntary waiver.
