AI Summary
This bill aims to prevent the use of and reliance upon curricula or training programs that advocate for certain "divisive concepts" related to race in Georgia's public schools. The bill defines "divisive concepts" broadly, including concepts that claim one race is inherently superior, that the United States is fundamentally racist, or that an individual's moral character is determined by their race. The bill requires local school boards, superintendents, and charter schools to prohibit employees from discriminating based on race and to ensure curricula and training programs encourage tolerance and respect, without advocating for divisive concepts. The bill establishes a complaint resolution process for alleged violations and authorizes the State Board of Education to take corrective action, including suspending waivers granted to local school systems. The bill also prohibits certification or classification of educators based on training programs that advocate for divisive concepts and requires athletic associations governing high school sports to have an executive oversight committee with members appointed by various education stakeholders.
