This bill amends the existing law to change the determination of funding for the statewide preschool program for four-year-old children. The key provisions are: 1. The "preschool budget enrollment" will be based on the actual enrollment of eligible students in the preschool programming provided by the approved school district, instead of 50% of the actual enrollment. 2. The "preschool foundation aid" will be calculated using the district's preschool budget enrollment, plus a new "preschool on-time funding budget adjustment" if the district's actual enrollment exceeds the preschool budget enrollment. 3. The bill applies to school budget years beginning on or after July 1, 2023.
