AI Summary

This bill enacts new provisions and amends existing laws related to the termination and renewal of public health emergency orders and orders that close public places or limit gatherings. The key provisions are: 1. Any public health order that is of general applicability throughout the state or a portion of the state and that closes public places or limits gatherings will automatically terminate 45 days after being issued, unless renewed or amended by a joint resolution of the legislature or, if the legislature is not in session, by a majority vote of the New Mexico Legislative Council. 2. The governor must transmit copies of such public health orders or declarations of a public health emergency to the legislative leadership. 3. For public health emergencies not subject to the 45-day automatic termination, the declaration will terminate after 30 days unless renewed by the governor. 4. The bill declares an emergency, allowing it to take effect immediately upon enactment.
