This bill sets requirements for the termination of revenue-sharing obligations in future state-tribal gaming compacts in New Mexico. It amends existing law to specify that a tribe's obligation to share gaming revenue with the state shall cease after 15 years if the tribe has met certain cumulative payment thresholds based on its annual adjusted net win. The thresholds range from $20 million for tribes with less than $20 million in annual adjusted net win, up to $250 million for tribes with over $200 million in annual adjusted net win. This bill aims to provide a path for tribes to eventually discontinue revenue-sharing payments to the state once they have contributed a substantial amount over the lifetime of the compact.
