This Memorial officially designates February 15, 2022, as "New Mexico State Fire Fighters Association Day" to honor the organization's one hundred years of dedicated service. The New Mexico State Fire Fighters Association, established in 1923 to represent fire departments on legislative and fire prevention matters, has a mission to support municipal, county, and volunteer fire departments, expand fire districts for better protection and response times, and promote fire prevention, emergency medical services, and training. The association also works to maintain statewide standards for training, performance, education, response time, safety, and equipment, all of which are crucial for the well-being of New Mexico's residents and public lands.
