This bill provides more flexibility for the use of Family Income Index (FII) distributions in public schools. It amends the existing law to allow schools to use FII allocations on a wider range of evidence-based interventions, including literacy and math programs, career and college readiness, dual enrollment, career and technical education, student support services, professional development, and resources to engage families and tribal communities. The bill also removes the previous requirement that schools allocate at least one-third of their FII funds to specific uses, giving them more discretion in how to spend the money to support their students' needs.
