This bill establishes the "Count the Kicks" public awareness campaign to educate pregnant women on how to track the movements of their unborn child in the last trimester of pregnancy. The campaign will provide information on the importance of fetal movement as an indicator of fetal health, how to monitor and record fetal kick counts, and the correlation between tracking fetal movement and a decrease in stillbirth. The Commissioner of Health is required to make this information available on the Department of Health website in English and Spanish and disseminate it through various entities, including local health agencies, clinics, healthcare facilities, and community-based organizations. The Commissioner must also report to the Governor and Legislature on the activities and accomplishments of the campaign within 24 months of the bill's effective date.
