AI Summary

This bill prohibits county boards of education, public prekindergarten programs, public primary and secondary schools, as well as certain non-public schools and prekindergarten programs that receive state funding, from discriminating against current or prospective students or their parents/guardians based on race, ethnicity, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability. It requires these entities to publish a statement on their non-discrimination policy in student handbooks. The bill also establishes a complaint process with the State Superintendent of Schools, who can mediate disputes or issue decisions, including potentially withholding funding from programs or schools found to have violated the law. Complainants can appeal decisions to the Office of Administrative Hearings.
