This bill ensures the operation of certain motor fuel storage, distribution, and dispensing facilities during disasters and emergencies. It establishes requirements for terminal facilities, wholesalers, and gasoline stations to have alternate generated power sources available within 24 hours of a disaster. The bill also creates the "New Jersey Disaster Motor Fuel Supplier Program" to allow retail dealers to participate in a network of emergency responders to provide motor fuel supplies and services during a declared state of emergency. The bill provides tax credits to retail dealers who participate in the program and meet the certification requirements. The Department of Law and Public Safety is required to study the progress in post-disaster motor fuel supply distribution and report to the Governor and Legislature.
