This Memorial requests several legislative committees, including the Legislative Finance Committee and the Revenue Stabilization and Tax Policy Committee, along with interim committees focused on courts, corrections, justice, and Indian affairs, to thoroughly examine the current state of gaming in New Mexico. The purpose of this examination is to gather information and insights that will help shape the future of gaming in the state, aiming to make it more competitive with other states, boost tourism, create economic opportunities, and ensure its long-term sustainability. The committees are specifically asked to consider revenue implications, tax consequences of any changes, the existing gaming laws, and potential impacts on liquor license holders if gaming were expanded to them. The findings and conclusions are to be reported by December 31, 2022, to various state entities and tribal governments.
