This bill, the Climate Adaptation Science Centers Act (CASC Act), directs the Secretary of the Interior to establish a National Climate Adaptation Science Center and several Regional Climate Adaptation Science Centers. These centers will provide scientific expertise and support to agencies, organizations, tribes, and others engaged in managing natural resources, cultural resources, and ecosystem services to help them adapt to a changing climate and extreme weather events. The bill outlines the duties and authorities of the National Center and Regional Centers, including conducting research, coordinating with other federal agencies, and reviewing and supporting the Regional Centers. The bill also establishes an Advisory Committee on Climate and Natural Resource Sciences to provide input on the centers' priorities and operations, and authorizes appropriations to fund the program over 5 fiscal years.
