This Joint Resolution establishes the second Friday in December of each year as "PSRPs in Our Schools Day" in New Jersey to honor the significant contributions of paraprofessionals and school-related personnel, collectively known as PSRPs. These individuals, who include instructional and non-instructional aides, bus drivers, cafeteria staff, custodians, maintenance workers, and grounds staff, provide essential support to students and educators by assisting with tutoring, classroom management, translation, student supervision, meal preparation, maintaining school facilities, and student transportation. The resolution acknowledges that PSRPs are vital members of the education team, facilitating communication and enabling teachers to be more effective, and that their often unheralded efforts empower students to succeed academically and developmentally.
