This bill adds new provisions to existing Idaho law to provide certain protections for consumers regarding automatic subscription renewals. The key provisions are: 1. Sellers must clearly disclose the automatic renewal terms and the methods consumers can use to cancel the subscription. 2. Sellers must provide free online cancellation and cancellation in the same manner as the consumer subscribed, and provide a toll-free phone number for cancellation. 3. For extended automatic renewals (12 months or more), sellers must notify consumers 30-60 days in advance and provide at least two methods of cancellation, including one at no cost. 4. Violations of these new requirements are considered violations of the Idaho Consumer Protection Act. 5. The new law applies to agreements entered into or renewed on or after January 1, 2023.
