This bill amends Massachusetts state law to change the requirements for dentistry licensure examinations. Specifically, it removes the requirement that the examination include the performance of any procedure on a live patient. Instead, it allows the examination to be written or oral, and may include demonstrations in areas such as operative and prosthetic dentistry, diagnosis, and prognosis. The bill also requires the Board of Registration in Dentistry to approve an examination that does not require procedures on live patients by July 1, 2023, though until that time, the board may continue to approve the current examination that includes such procedures.
