This bill would expand the existing Address Confidentiality for Reproductive Health Care Service Providers, Employees, Volunteers, and Patients program to include other individuals who face threats of violence or harassment from the public because of their work for a public entity, such as public health officers, election workers, and code enforcement officers. The bill would require an individual seeking confidentiality to apply in person and meet with a counselor. The bill would also create a similar confidential voter status program for these qualified workers who face life-threatening circumstances. Additionally, the bill would eliminate the requirement to post the names of precinct board members, while still requiring the posting of their political party affiliation. The bill includes provisions to address state-mandated local program costs.
