This bill amends the Michigan Campaign Finance Act by making several changes. It defines "caregiving expenses" as the costs of direct care, protection, and supervision of a child or other person with a disability or medical condition. The bill also expands the definition of "expenditure" to include caregiving expenses that result directly from a candidate or public official engaging in campaign activities or carrying out the business of an elective office. These changes allow campaign funds to be used for child care and dependent care expenses. The bill also makes other technical amendments to the act.
