AI Summary

This bill creates a new section in Kentucky's medical laboratory laws to address the federal 21st Century Cures Act's requirement for immediate electronic health information access. It allows health care providers to delay disclosing certain sensitive test results, such as those indicating possible malignancy or genetic markers, to patients for up to 72 hours, unless the provider directs earlier release. The bill also updates existing state law to align with the 21st Century Cures Act's electronic health information exchange provisions. The bill declares an emergency to allow Kentucky's health care providers to review certain test results before patients receive them, as provided for in the new section.
