Bill Summary
An act to amend Sections 7360, 7362, 7363, and 7364 of, and to add Section 7374 to, the Revenue and Taxation Code, relating to taxation, and making an appropriation therefor.
AI Summary
This bill suspends the imposition of the motor vehicle fuel tax in California for one year. It requires any savings realized by parties other than the end consumer to be passed on to the end consumer, and makes any violation of this requirement an unfair business practice. The bill also directs the State Controller to transfer an amount equal to the previous year's fuel tax revenue, adjusted for inflation, from the General Fund to the Motor Vehicle Fuel Account. This transfer is continuously appropriated to fund transportation-related expenditures.
