It defines "public school" and "sex" as an individual's biological sex at birth based on their reproductive biology and genetics. The bill prohibits public schools from allowing students of the male sex to participate on school-sponsored athletic teams exclusively for female students. The bill also directs the Joint Committee on Education to study student athletic events that are exclusively for males or females, and the impact of a policy prohibiting participation by individuals of the opposite sex, with the committee required to report its findings and recommendations, along with any necessary legislation, to the General Assembly by January 1, 2024.
