AN ACT to amend the real property tax law, in relation to real property tax exemptions for certain disabled veterans

This bill amends the real property tax law to allow counties, cities, towns, villages, or school districts to grant a 100% real property tax exemption to veterans who served in combat and are 100% disabled as a result of their military service. The local maximum exemption allowance would not apply to these 100% disabled veteran exemptions. The bill would take effect immediately and apply to assessment rolls prepared on and after January 1, 2022.
