This bill creates a new provision in Wisconsin law that allows individuals enrolled in a Medicare supplement policy to cancel their existing policy and purchase a new one with the same or lesser benefits during a 30-day period beginning on their birthday. The bill prohibits insurers from denying coverage, conditioning issuance, or discriminating in premiums for the replacement policy based on the individual's health status, claims experience, receipt of healthcare, or medical condition. The new law will first apply to individuals whose birthday occurs on the effective date of the bill, which is the first day of the 7th month after publication.
