This bill, the Cybersecurity Grants for Schools Act of 2022, amends the Homeland Security Act of 2002 to authorize the Director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) to provide financial assistance in the form of grants or cooperative agreements to states, local governments, higher education institutions, nonprofit organizations, and other non-federal entities. The purpose of these grants is to fund cybersecurity and infrastructure security education and training programs and initiatives, including to carry out the purposes of the Cybersecurity Education and Training Assistance Program (CETAP) and enhance CETAP to address the national shortfall of cybersecurity professionals. The bill also requires CISA to provide information on any such grants or cooperative agreements, including how they are being used to enhance cybersecurity education for underserved populations or communities.
