Bill Summary

This bill adds persons who have served in the New Jersey National Guard and who were discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable, to the list of persons eligible to receive free or reduced beach access granted by a shore municipality. Current law permits shore municipalities, by ordinance, to provide free or reduced fee beach access to persons who are active members of the New Jersey National Guard who have completed Initial Active Duty Training and to their spouse or dependent children over the age of 12 years. This bill permits a shore municipality to provide free or reduced fee beach access to any person who has served in the New Jersey National Guard and who was discharged or released therefrom under conditions other than dishonorable.

AI Summary

This bill allows shore municipalities in New Jersey to provide free or reduced-fee beach access to any person who has served in the New Jersey National Guard and was discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable, in addition to the current law's provisions for active New Jersey National Guard members who have completed initial training and their eligible family members. The bill also permits these municipalities to track the number of persons who qualify for the free or reduced-fee access under this new provision.
