This bill amends Minnesota's MinnesotaCare program to provide eligibility for undocumented noncitizens, in addition to citizens, nationals, and lawfully present noncitizens. It removes the previous restriction that excluded undocumented noncitizens from the program. The bill specifies that an undocumented noncitizen is an individual residing in the U.S. without the approval of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. It also maintains that families with citizen or national children must cooperate in providing documentary evidence of citizenship or nationality as required by federal law. The bill is effective January 1, 2023.
