This bill requires certain employers, such as large retail, food service, and hospitality establishments, to provide advance notice to their employees of their work schedules. Specifically, the bill mandates that employers must: 1) Provide new employees with a written estimate of their expected work hours, shifts, and schedules upon hiring. 2) Post work schedules for all employees at least 14 days in advance. 3) Provide written notice of any changes to the posted schedules as soon as possible. 4) Pay employees additional compensation for schedule changes made with less than 7 days' notice or for canceled/reduced shifts. 5) Allow employees to decline shifts with less than 11 hours between the end of the previous shift, unless the employee consents in writing. 6) Maintain detailed records of employee shifts and schedules for at least 3 years. The bill also establishes a process for employees to request schedule adjustments and allows for civil actions and penalties against employers who violate the law's provisions.
