This bill clarifies that agencies, entities and organizations that train and certify volunteer emergency medical technicians will be reimbursed for the cost of providing that training and certification to volunteer members of first aid and rescue squads, as well as to volunteer firefighters. Currently, any private agency, organization, or entity that trains and tests members of volunteer ambulance, first aid, and rescue squads seeking emergency medical technician certification or recertification may be reimbursed from the Emergency Medical Technician Training Fund. This bill provides that reimbursement will also be made when this training is provided to members of volunteer fire companies.
