This bill permits registered small farm producers to sell fluid raw milk and fluid raw milk products directly to consumers under certain circumstances. The bill exempts these producers from the general licensing and pasteurization requirements that normally apply to the sale of milk and milk products. To qualify, producers must have a farm with less than 12 animal units, label their products accurately, and display a sign stating the products are not state-inspected. Producers must also register annually with the state, provide proof of food safety training and animal health testing, and cannot exceed certain sales thresholds. The bill amends current law to allow for these exemptions.
