This bill adds a new section to Idaho's existing law to provide for mental and behavioral health care services through interstate telehealth. It allows mental and behavioral health providers who are licensed in other states to provide telehealth services to Idaho residents, as long as they meet certain requirements such as having substantially similar licensing requirements, not being subject to disciplinary action, and obtaining an Idaho credential. The bill also sets the standard of care to be the Idaho community standard, prohibits out-of-state providers from prescribing legend drugs for use in Idaho, and gives Idaho licensing authorities the ability to investigate and discipline such providers. The bill will expire on July 1, 2025 unless extended, and takes effect immediately due to an emergency declaration.
